Cargo throughput at the Port of Nakhodka in January-October 2012 rose 13.6% year-on-year, to 14.12 million tons, the Port Authority statistics said.
Oil product exports rose 8.5% from last year’s numbers, to 5.95 million tons, shipments of anthracite increased by 20.8% to 3.76 million tons. Ferrous metal volumes rose 20.6% to 3.17 million tons, while handling timber cargo fell 11.8% to 411,400 tons.
Container traffic soared by 5.4 times to 9,200 TEUs.
Russian Port of Nakhodka is located in the northern Bay of Nakhodka. The year-round navigable port is connected via Trans-Siberian Railroad with the entire network of Russian and Western Europe’s railroads. In 2011, trade flows passing through the Port of Nakhodka totaled 14.98 million tons.
