High and low sulfur bunker fuel oil premiums for prompt delivery in Rotterdam are strengthening on extended delays at Vopak loading installations, shipping sources said Friday, Platts reports.
"Vopak is a nightmare at the moment, [the terminal] is loading barges, up to 350 mt per hour," a supplier in Rotterdam said.
Another supplier in Rotterdam indicated operational delays of up to 48 hours at Vopak for both LSFO and HSFO deliveries.
Sources at Vopak were not immediately available for comment.
Market sources in Rotterdam expect further difficulties with HSFO and LSFO loadings due to tighter supply in the coming week following some arbitrage fixtures for export outlets.
On Friday, price indications for 380 CST HSFO and LSFO in Rotterdam were coming at $590-593/mt and $619-622/mt, respectively, sources said.
The premium for 380 CST high sulfur bunker fuel to 3.5% FOB Rotterdam barges was assessed by Platts at $9.25/mt Thursday, up from $7.25/mt on Wednesday and $6.50/mt Tuesday.
