Nobel Bros Shipyard floats out 3rd tanker of Project RST-25 Yuli Makarenkov

Nobel Brothers Shipyard today held an official launching and naming ceremony for the third serial tanker of Project RST-25 Yuli Makarenkov, being built for Moscow River Shipping Company, the shipbuilder’s press release said.

The shipbuilding firm is part of Moscow River Shipping, which operates three mixed-class ‘river-sea’ tankers.

The vessels of Project RST25 are new type of river-sea tankers equipped with six cargo tanks designed to carry crude oil and petroleum products, including gasoline, with no flash point limits and enhanced environmental safety and automation.

Ship’s main characteristics: LOA – 139,99 m, beam molded - 16,6 m, fresh / salt water draft - 4.175 m / 3.60 m, max draft DWT - 6,613 tons in salt water, 5,132 tons in fresh water;  six cargo tanks and 2 slop tanks - 6990 cbm; the vessel is powered by twin 1200kW 6L20 Wartsila engines. Russian River Register class - M-CP4, 5 (led40) A EKO3. The tankers satisfy the Volga-Don Canal and Volga-Baltic Canal dimensions. They have no longitudinal bulkhead in CL and no framing in cargo tanks. The series tankers have full revolving rudder propellers, increased trunk and submersible cargo pumps.

The RST25 project tankers feature full-revolving rudder propellers, no longitudinal bulkhead in CL, no framing in cargo tanks, increased trunk and submersible cargo pumps. The vessel complies with the dimensions of the Volga-Don Canal and the Volga-Baltic Canal.

The lead ship of the series, the M/V Alexander Shemagin was laid down on December 21, 2010, floated out on November 15, 2011. The M/V Pavel Yudin was laid down on May 17, 2011 year. The M/V Yuli Makarenkov was laid down on November 1, 2011.
