Cargo throughput at Russian sea ports for 2012 is expected to reach 550 million tons, the Minister of Transportation Maxim Sokolov said.
The official was reporting to the Russian parliament’s Federation Council on the "Development of Transport Infrastructure as a Tool for Economic Growth of the Russian Federation Regions."
“For the past ten years (2002-2011), cargo transshipment at the seaports has increased by more than twofold and by the year-end it is expected to reach 550 million tons," the Transportation Ministry press service quoted the minister as saying.
