As of November 21st, coal shipments through the Ust-Luga-based Rosterminalugol terminal have totaled 12.4 million tons versus slightly below 10 mln tons for the same period a year earlier, the stevedore news release said. So, Rosterminalugol has hit the planned figures for 2012 ahead of schedule.
The 12-millionth ton was loaded onto the M/V Trans Pacific on November 10th.
JSC Rosterminalugol was established in 1996 to build and operate the coal terminal at Port of Ust-Luga. The terminal’s projected annual coal throughput is 8 million tons. The Company specializes in loading / unloading operations, freight forwarding services, building and maintenance of facilities at the coal terminal. The company also provides insurance services for cargoes and property, the risks of transactions at Ust-Luga port. The terminal has two berths of total length of 540 meters and depth of 14 meters. The terminal is able to accommodate 240-m-long, 32.2-m-wide vessels. In 2011, coal exports via the terminal surged 45.3% year-over-year to 10.9 million tons.
