Cargo traffic at the seaports of Ukraine in January-October 2012 rose 1.2% compared to the same period last year, to 127.44 million tons, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said.
In the reporting period, export cargo shipments through the country’s ports increased by 18.7% to 79.99 million tons, while imports shrank by 13% to 13.88 million tons. Transit cargo volume was down by 19.6% to 32.16 million tons. Inland traffic slumped by 45.3% from a year earlier to 1.39 million tons.
