South American bunker prices drop on Tuesday

Tuesday was a day of fairly flat bunker prices in the Americas as markets across the region continued to make small movements. Prices in South America slipped around $3.00, Santos' IFO380 gain of $1.00 an exception to that, while U.S. Gulf and North American coasts were a little mixed but generally saw similar small movements in a positive direction, Ship & Bunker reports.

Houston IFO380 moved up for a second consecutive day rising $2.00 to $614.00 pmt, $1.00 higher than last Tuesday, and $9.50 higher than two weeks ago. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $3.00 to $714.50 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $100.50 pmt. MGO in the port gained $1.00 to $1020.00 pmt losing $3.00 from the price a month ago on October 29, 2012.

New York IFO380 dropped $0.50 to $628.00 pmt, $4.00 below last Tuesday's price, and $2.50 higher than a month ago. LS380 rose $4.00 to $693.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $65.00 pmt, and falling $11.50 week-on-week. MGO in New York fell for a second consecutive day down $1.00 to $1048.50 pmt and up $43.00 since October 29, 2012 one month ago.

Los Angeles / Long Beach IFO380 moved down $1.00 to $673.00 pmt losing $17.00 week-on-week, and down $12.50 compared to last month. LS380 slipped $0.50 to $758.50 pmt making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $85.50 today, and down $25.50 from last Tuesday.

New Orleans 380 cSt product climbed for a second consecutive day up $4.00 to $624.00 pmt, rising $2.50 week-on-week, and up $1.50 from October 29, 2012. LS380 moved up $3.50 to $718.50 slipping $1.50 from last Tuesday, and MGO fell $2.50 to $1011.50 pmt, $11.00 higher than two weeks ago.

Vancouver IFO380 was down $0.50 to $647.50 pmt losing $5.50 from last Tuesday, and $5.50 lower than October 29, 2012. LS380 was steady at $918.50 pmt, down $1.50 week-on-week, and MGO slipped $1.50 to $1084.00 pmt, $29.50 lower compared to last month.
