The Russian Federal Tariff Service (FTS) has approved a 7-percent increase of regulated tariffs for rail freight transportation services, effective as from January 1, 2013, RBC reports, citing a source in the FTS.
According to the source, the rate adjustment approval was based on the forecast of social and economic development of Russia in 2013 and the plan of 2014-2015.
Earlier, RZD’s President Vladimir Yakunin had proposed the rail services tariffs adjustment by 3% or 4% so the Company could implement its investment program.
