Inland oil products shipping by Palmali totals 6.6m tons

Russian shipping company Palmali in 2012 increased the volume of export oil products carried on Russia’s inland waterways and from the ports of the Azov Sea by 100,000 tons to 6.6 million tons, the Company press release said.

During the navigational period, the shipping company’s fleet was transporting petroleum products from the ports of Turkmenbashi (Turkmenistan), Astrakhan, Oktyabirsk (Samara), Nikolayevsk (Volgograd region), Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don and Taganrog to the ports of Kavkaz, Kerch and other ports based on the Black Sea, Marmara Sea and the Mediterranean.

Traffic volume growth has been achieved through optimization of logistics and efficient management of Palmali’s fleet, the Company said.

Palmali Group is a Russian shipping company operating in the Mediterranean, Caspian and Black Seas. Palmali Group is a major carrier of oil companies SOCAR (Azerbaijan) and LUKOIL (Russia) on the southern lines. The Group has been awarded long-term contracts for transportation of petroleum products with TNK-BP. The Group operates a fleet of 60 cargo ships of total capacity of nearly 400,000 tons.
