Pacifico Marine addresses to Putin to stop arbitrariness of Primorsky Krai authorities
Russian shipbuilding firm Pacifico Marine, executing a contract for three catamarans for the APEC-2012 Summit held in Vladivostok, has submitted yet another appeal to Russian President Vladimir Putin against the actions of the Primorsky Territory administration and the management of Vostochnaya Verft Shipyard. In the Pacifico Marine’s open letter to President Putin the shipbuilding firm claims that the actions of the Primorsky Territory authorities are aimed at destruction of Pacifico Marine, which secured a three catamarans order (as a subcontractor of Vostochnaya Shipyard for the first two high-speed crafts, and as a contractor for one boat awarded from the Primorsky Territory Administration).
The Pacifico Marine said the local shipyard authorities on Aug. 13 ordered to seize all of the assets of the company based on the territory leased out by Vostochnaya Shipyard, so the firm’s workers were not permitted to the yard and the boats they had built.
Previously, Pacifico Marine had filed an appeal with the court and in November the Arbitration Court of Appeal of the Primorsky Territory ruled in favor of the shipbuilding firm. Pacific Marine Ltd. said that because of the illegal actions of the management of Vostochnaya Shipyard it has borne huge unnecessary losses and that its property has been substantially damaged.
