Port Kozmino crude oil traffic reaches 14.5 million tons
The volume of oil shipments through Kozmino export oil terminal for the past eleven months totaled 14.5 million tons, Spetsmornefteport Kozmino press release said.
Of the volume, more than 30% were exported to Japan, 25% - to China, nearly 20% - to the U.S.A. The rest – to South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Malaysia.
In November, exports of the ESPO crude oil from the Far East terminal of Transneft totaled 1.6 million tons, up 33% from last year’s numbers. The figure reflects a positive trend after Berth No 2 commissioning, which was built to increase the port’s capacity to 30 million tons, the report said.
The first tanker moored at Kozmino Berth No 2 on November 10, which was deepened to accommodate vessels of up to 120DWT. Three more tankers docked at the terminal during the same month.
In December, Kozmino terminal plans to export 1.8 million tons of raw materials, including six tanker shipments of 100,000 tons each. It is expected that the total crude exports will rise to 16.3m tons in 2012.
Spetsmornefteport Kozmino LLC (Special Oil Port of Kozmino, Primorsky Territory), a subsidiary of Transneft JSC, started operating in late 2009. Kozmino Oil Terminal is the terminus of the ESPO Oil Pipeline (Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean). In 2011, crude shipments through the facility amounted to 15.2 million tons.
