Putin mulls expanding Blue Stream pipeline
The Blue Stream natural gas pipeline, which links Russia to Turkey via the Black Sea bypassing transit countries, could be expanded into third countries, President Vladimir Putin said in Istanbul during a press conference with Turkey's Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, RBC reports.
"Turkey is Europe's energy hub, and diversifying delivery routes linking Russia to its key export markets is a key priority. The Blue Stream supplies Turkey with 16 bcm of natural gas, and there is a chance that we will come to an agreement on expanding this pipeline by extending it, among other options, to third countries," Putin pointed out.
