Keppel FELS in $1.2bn Ukraine rig order
Keppel FELS has signed a contract with Natfogaz of the Ukraine to build a pair of semi-submersible rigs worth about $1.2bn, Seatrade Asia online reports.
The contract signing follows an announcement last month that Keppel had won the tender for the rig newbuildings and is subject to regulatory approvals before it becomes effective. The rigs will be built to Keppel DSS38U design.
"We are pleased to be chosen by Naftogaz to work on these two complex projects for the Black Sea. Having delivered two jackup rigs for the Black Sea, we understand the specifications necessary for rigs to work in such extreme conditions,” said Wong Kok Seng, managing director of Keppel FELS.
