LA / Long Beach IFO380 down for a seventh consecutive market day
Bunker prices in North America were down today, including a double digit drops for ports including San Francisco and New Orleans, Ship & Bunker reports.
But the biggest move was made by IFO380 in Los Angeles / Long Beach which slid $33.00 to $612.50 per metric tonne (pmt) today, making it a seventh consecutive market day of falling prices at the port. Its the lowest price since mid July and follows yesterday's report that high prices at the port had 'killed' demand there. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) made a slightly less dramatic move, slipping $23.50 to $702.50, but it was still the the lowest price since June 29, 2012.
Houston IFO380 moved down for the first time since last Thursday, falling $6.00 to $609.50 pmt, gaining $1.50 week-on-week, and up $14.50 since November 5, 2012. LS380 fell $7.50 to $709.50 making the premium for the low sulfur product $100.00 pmt. MGO moved down $9.00 to $1006.00 pmt, dropping $4.50 since last Wednesday, and rising $8.50 from last month.
New York IFO380 fell $6.50 to $616.00 pmt, slipping $8.00 since last week, and down $10.00 compared to the price on November 5, 2012. LS380 dropped $4.00 to $694.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $78.00 pmt. MGO moved down $5.50 to $1037.00 pmt, falling $4.00 week-on-week, and $37.50 higher than the price a month ago.
New Orleans IFO380 fell or the first time since November 29, 2012 dropping $10.00 to $629.00 pmt, $4.50 higher than last Wednesday, and an increase of $29.50 from last month. LS380 was down $8.00 to $726.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $97.00 pmt. MGO was down $4.00 to $1010.50 pmt, up $3.00 on last Wednesday's price, and $135.50 higher than the price six months ago.
Vancouver IFO380 was steady at $647.50 pmt, putting it $4.50 higher than last week's price, and up $14.00 compared to last month. LS380 remained at $906.50 making the premium for the low sulfur grade $259.00 pmt. MGO moved up $2.50 to $1090.00 pmt, a week-on-week increase of $9.50, and $9.00 up on the previous month.
