Berdyansky port cargo volumes grew 12.5 percent in Nov
Cargo traffic passing through Ukraine’s Port of Berdyansk in November 2012 rose 12.5% from the same period a year earlier, to 225,500 tons, the port statistics said.
In the reporting period the port handled 182,400 tons of outbound cargoes and 19,700 tons of inbound goods.
Shipments of coal, metal products and construction materials rose, while monthly volume of coke fell.
Berdyansk Commercial Seaport located on the coast of the Azov Sea is the only maritime transport hub in the Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. The Port transships export cargoes, largely scrap metal and metal products (wire, ingots, sheet metal, etc.). In 2011, Berdyansk port’s throughput rose 10.4% to 2.4 million tons.
