Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok throughput rises 5.8 percent
Freight traffic passing through Commercial Seaport Vladivostok (CPV, part of Transportation Group FESCO) in January-November 2012 totaled 6,131,500 tons, a 5.8-percent gain from the same period last year, the stevedore company press release said.
In the reporting period the port’s terminals handled 2,803,900 tons of export, import and coastal bulk cargoes, liquid bulk and other general cargoes, except containers and imported vehicles.
Container throughput of CPV for the period reached 415,034 TEUs, shipments of imported cars and vehicles totaled 71,138 units.
During the reporting period, the company was handling an average of 18,303 tons of cargo and 259 railcars.
Commercial Seaport of Vladivostok, member of FESCO Transport Group, owns and operates its assets at the port of Vladivostok, a premier Russian seaport in the Far East region. Port of Vladivostok encompasses 55 ha, over 14 km of waterfront featuring 17 berths with terminals for handling grain, containers, imported vehicles, as well as a passenger terminal. In 2011, CPV’s cargo throughput fell 7.8% year-over-year to 6.38 million tons.
