APL and Hanjing Shipping launch weekly East Asia service
APL & Hanjing launch Japan Thailand 2 string under vessel sharing agreement APL, a subsidiary of Singapore-based Neptune Orient Lines (NOL), and South Korean ocean carrier Hanjin Shipping have launched a new weekly service connecting Japan and Thailand, Port Technology reports.
The new Japan Thailand 2 (JT2) service will be operated through a vessel sharing agreement with each shipper deploying three 1,700 TEU capacity vessels.
In a statement, APL said that the new JT2 will help to complement the existing Japan Thailand Vietnam (JTV) service to provide a comprehensive service network for customers trading between South East Asia, North Asia and Japan.
The new service port rotation will be as follows; Osaka, Kobe, Hibiki, Hakata, Kaohsiung, Chiwan, Laem Chabang, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung and Osaka.
The first northbound sailing will begin on 21st December 2012 from Laem Chabang, while the first southbound sailing will set off from Osaka on December 24th.
