Sinergy Cargo opens multimodal terminal
Sinergy Cargo – the Italian member of the Famous Pacific Shipping forwarding network – has opened a multimodal container and bulk cargo handling and storage centre, at Arquata Scrivia, 40 km from Genoa port, Heavy Lift reports.
The Sinergy Cargo Terminal covers a total area of 105,000 sq m, comprising 20,000 sq m of warehousing, large truck parking and manoeuvring areas, and 2.5 km of rail sidings connected to the national rail system at nearby Arquata Scrivia station.
From the new base, Sinergy says it offers ocean container loading, unloading and storage; logistics services; warehousing and secure storage; Customs clearance and bonded storage; receiving and handout of loose cargo; consolidation and breakbulk (containers and trailers); handling and storage of dry bulk cargo; as well as handling and storage of minerals, steel coils, long pipes and other outsize and bulk commodities.
Says Sinergy MD Marco Cavalieri: “The Sinergy Cargo Terminal has greatly expanded our capabilities. The location of the facility is ideal, providing a receiving and hand-out centre which is unaffacted by traffic congestion around Genoa city and port, is within easy reach of Italy’s main industrial centres, and is very well connected by road or rail to the rest of Europe.”
