Chinese ports container traffic up 8.3 percent in Jan-Nov
Container traffic at the ports of China in January-November 2012 increased by 8.3% compared with the same period last year, to 161.48 million tons, the Ministry of Transportation’s statistics said.
Container throughput at the country’s sea ports grew 7.9% to 144 million TEUs, at river ports - by 11.8% to 17.5 million tons.
In the reporting period, handling of imports / exports at Chinese ports increased by 6.9% to 8.9 billion tons, including 6.08 bn tons of cargo handled at the country’s sea ports (+7.6%), and 2.84bn tons (+5.4%) – at river ports.
