Rosmorport commissions second tug of Project TG04M «Muromets" (photo release)
Rosmorport’s Azov basin branch has commissioned into service the Muromets, the second vessel of a package of two icebreaking docking tugs of Project TG04M built at ZNT Yard, the federal enterprise press release said.
Now, the Rosmorport’s Azov division operates two new tugboats that will be utilized to ensure safe shipping in the ports of Azov and Rostov-on-Don, the area of heavy traffic. Both tugs will also be used for escort of cargo ships passing under the Rostov-on-Don railway bridge.
The first tug, Dobrynya was laid down on December 8, 2011, launched on August 1, 2012 and delivered on September 12, 2012. The Muromets was laid down on December 8, 2011 and launched on August 28, 2012.
The two tugboats will also be involved in the delivery of border and customs control officers, the crew members and pilots on board vessels lying at offshore anchorage.
The Project TG04M single-deck twin-screw tugboats are designed to RRR class - "O" 2,0 (Ice 30) for operations in harsh conditions of the Arctic, on inland waterways and estuaries, for river, harbor towing / escorting, docking operations or inshore transportation of 12 passengers (dock workers). The designer provides for cold lay-up of the vessel for the six-month period.
Ship’s characteristics: length - 20.96 m, beam - 6,6 m, depth amidships - 2.4 m, draft at DWL - 1.8 m, displacement at DWL draft, fresh water - 126.6 tons, DWT - about 27.8 tons. The tug is powered by two 221kW (600hp) main engines. Endurance (fuel/water) - 4.4 / 9.4 days. Bollard pull – 71 kH.
