  FESCO’s icebreaker heads for Magadan to provide icebreaking service

  

  FESCO owned icebreaker Magadan on December 17, 2012 departed the home port of Vladivostok and headed for the port of Magadan to perform icebreaking duties, the FESCO Group said.

  The Magadan is expected to be at the site on December 24 and will be assisting shipping in the area until mid-May under the contract with Rosmorport.

  The Vladivostok-based JSC Far East Shipping Company (FESCO) is a FESCO Transportation Group’s shipping asset, the carrier of bulk and general cargoes. Seaborne cargo shipments by the company’s fleet, consisting of 67 vessels of total 900,000 DWT, cover the entire world ocean. In 2011 FESCO saw an 88-percent slump in net income to RUB 113.8 million. Operating revenue for the same period shrank by 13.3% to RUB 2.8 billion.
