Rosmorport’s icebreakers busy assisting shipping in Gulf of Finland
From December 18, icebreakers operated by Rosmorport have escorted six cargo ships in the Russian part of the Gulf of Finland as of 10:00, Dec. 19, the Finland Gulf Ice Operations Center (HQ) reported.
Currently, ice thickness in the waters of the Neva Bay reaches 5-20 cm. There is dark nilas further to the west up to entrance buoy of Big Port St. Petersburg, as well as early stages of ice, then - open water. In Vyborg Bay fast ice of thickness of 5-10 cm is reported. In the Luga Bay is free of ice. Primorsk reports dark nilas and other early stages of ice.
