European bunker prices climb mid week
Bunker prices in the EMEA region generally firmed on Wednesday, with the notable exception of Istanbul where IFO380 saw a fourth consecutive day of decline. In North and Western Europe IFO380 rose by an average of over $5.00 per metric tonne (pmt) today, Ship & Bunker data showed.
Rotterdam IFO380 moved up for a second consecutive day rising $4.50 to $584.50 pmt, gaining $5.50 week-on-week, and down $11.00 from last month. Low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $5.50 to $619.50 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $35.00 pmt. MGO climbed $11.50 to $929.00 pmt, up $22.50 from last Wednesday.
Fujairah IFO380 climbed $4.50 to $605.50 pmt, rising $4.50 week-on-week, and down $11.50 from last month. MGO moved down $2.00 to $1010.00 pmt, falling $1.50 from last week, and $14.00 lower than the price on November 19, 2012.
Istanbul IFO380 fell for a fourth consecutive market day down $1.50 to $608.00 pmt, $10.00 lower than last Wednesday, and down $14.50 from the previous month. MGO rose $5.00 to $981.50 pmt, moving up $13.00 week-on-week, and rising $2.50 from November 19, 2012.
Piraeus IFO380 climbed for a second consecutive day gaining $4.00 to $600.00 pmt, the same price as last week, and $7.00 lower than the previous month. LS380 rose $6.00 to $668.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $68.00 pmt. MGO was up for a fifth consecutive market day rising $8.00 to $954.50 pmt, $24.50 higher than last Wednesday.
