Azerbaijan starts fabrication of TIB for construction of rigs at Filanovsky field (photo)
Assembly of a Transport and Installation Barge (TIB) has commenced in Baku, Azerbaijan intended for the construction of offshore platforms at the Vladimir Finalovsky field. LUKOIL begins the active phase of the field development in 2013, the oil company.
The TIB equipped with a crane of lifting capacity of 400 mt will be utilized for mounting of pile substructures of offshore platforms and construction of crossover bridges, as well as for the installation of the topsides of ice-resistant fixed platform (IRFP-1), a central processing platform (CPP) and living quarters module (LQM-1).
TIB specifications: capacity - 13,450 tons, length - 140.3 m, breadth - 62.3 m.
T-shaped TIB consists of two main pontoons and two additional pontoons (outriggers) required to increase the bearing capacity and stability of the vessel for transportation of heavy bulky cargo, topsides of IRFP -1 and CPP.
The TIB constriction and trials are scheduled for completion in March 2013.
