  Icebreaker Kapitan Metsayk forms convoys to ports of Astrakhan and Olya

  

  The icebreaker "Kapitan Metsayk" as of 09:00 am, Dec. 21st was located at the 134 km of Volga-Caspian Sea Shipping Channel (VCSC) to form a convoy of cargo ships bound for the port of Astrakhan and Olya, the Authority of Caspian Basin Seaports.

  Icebreakers "Kapitan Bukayev", "Kapitan Chechkin" are now escorting of merchant ships to the ports of Astrakhan and Olya.

  As previously reported, the Port of Astrakhan Harbourmaster has announced the start of winter navigation season, as of December 1, 2012.
  The Kapitan Metsayk was commissioned into service on December 8, 2012 and has been deployed at the sea part of the VCSC to provide icebreaking assistance to vessels.
