Transportation Ministry OKs port charges
Russia’s Ministry of Transport in its order dated 31.10.2012 № 387 in accordance with Article 19 of the Federal Law of 8.11.2007 № 261-FZ has approved a new list of port charges levied in the ports of the Russian Federation, effective midnight January 1, 2013, the Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
The Ministry established the entities authorized to levy port charges. In particular, Rosmorport may charge channel, navigational, lighthouse, icebreaking dues in the ports of the Russian Federation. Pilotage and environmental dues can be collected both by Rosmorport and the business entities providing pilotage and environmental safety services.
Thus, Rosmorport will charge port fees in 55 ports of the Russian Federation, including the seaport of Makhachkala, where previously FSUE Makhachkala Sea Commercial Port was authorized to collect port dues.
