Pella Shipyard launches first multipurpose vessel of Project SKPO-1000
Pella Shipyard hold a launching ceremony of a lead ship of integrated port services of Project SKPO-1000, the shipyard’s press service said. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2013.
This appears to be the first 50-meter-long ship that ever slid down the shipyard’s slipway.
The ship is designed for bunkering operations, for collection of oily, sewage and bilge waters from vessels and floating facilities, collection of solid and food waste from ships, transportation and deployment of buoys, maintenance of navaids, oil spill response.
Vessel’s specifications: overall length - 49.9 m, beam - 14.0 m, draft - about 5.0 m, operational speed - about 10.0 knots. RS Class - KM Ice3 R2 Aut1 Oil Tanker (> 60 ° C) ESP.
JSC Pella Shipyard based in Russia’s Leningrad region was founded in 1950. In 1992 Pella was privatized as Pella Holding Co. comprising the head office and several subsidiaries. The shipbuilding firm specializes in building harbor tugs with rated power of 1,000-5,000hp, pusher tugs, escort tugs, pilot boats and rescue boats for Russian and foreign customers.
