Two Russian transport educational institutions to merge
The process of accession of the Rostov branch of Moscow State Academy of Water Transport (MGAVT) to Rostov-on-Don Institute of Water Transport named after G. Sedov scheduled for the end of 2012, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency of Sea and River Transport (Rosmorrechflot) Alexander Poshivay told PortNews.
He explained that students of Rostov branch of MGAVT and its stuff will be transferred to the Institute of Water Transport of Sedov.
Rostov branch of the Federal State Institution of Higher Professional Education "Moscow State Academy of Water Transport" is one of the largest in southern Russia institutions for training command personnel for ships of mixed river-sea sailing. The branch has labs and offices, maritime training centers, educational workshops, a fleet of rowing and motor boats, library and other departments.
Rostov-on-Don Institute of Water Transport of Sedov is a public institution of higher education for training specialists for the maritime and technical fleet of Russia. The Institute is part of the continuing maritime education, enabling graduates to obtain a professional qualification of engine operators and graduate engineers.
