Construction of UT 755 LC PSV nears completion at Simek Shipyard
Assembly and outfitting of the Newbuilding 125, a Platform Supply Vessel of UT 755 LC design that is being build for Atlantic Offshore, is in full swing at Simek Shipyard. Construction works are being performed on all five blocks which will soon form a complete ship, Shipbuilding Tribune reported.
The UT 755 LC is a development of the popular UT 755 series vessel, designed specifically for supplying equipment to oil and gas platforms. The vessel will have an extended hull and larger deck space to increase the capacity for transportation of solid and liquid cargo.
So far, Blocks 1 & 2 have been assembled on the slipway in the covered building hall while Block 3 is being prepared for sandblasting and painting. Next one to be prepared for sandblasting and painting is Block 4. Also, interior works on the Superstructure, Block 5, has shown great progress. The Block is being prepared for assembly after sea-launching in March 2013.
Sea trials, naming ceremony and delivery of the Newbuilding 125 will take place at end of April 2013.
