Gains were seen for bunkers across the entire Americas region today, Ship & Bunker data showed, as the average price for both IFO and distillate grades climbed.
In South America, MGO was typically up $10.00 per metric tonne (pmt) on both coasts, as IFO in the region rose as much as $11.00 pmt.
Santos IFO380 rose $8.50 to $613.00 per metric tonne (pmt), while low sulfur 380 cSt product (LS380) climbed $10.00 to $618.00 making the premium for the Emissions Control Area (ECA) compliant fuel $5.00 pmt. MGO climbed $7.00 to $1008.00 pmt.
Houston IFO380 rose $6.00 to $620.50 pmt, making a week-on-week gain of $4.00, and up $6.50 over the past month. LS380 moved up $4.50 to $719.50 making the low sulfur premium $99.00 pmt. MGO climbed $5.00 to $1010.00 pmt, a change of $+7.50 in the past week.
LA / Long Beach IFO380 made a sharp gain of $14.00 to $645.50 pmt, up $16.50 since last Thursday, and falling $27.50 from November 27, 2012. LS380 moved up $13.00 to $756.00 making the premium for the low sulfur fuel $110.50 pmt. MGO rose $6.00 to $1038.00 pmt, gaining $13.50 week-on-week.
New Orleans IFO380 rose $7.50 to $633.50 pmt, gaining $4.50 over the last week, and $9.50 higher than the previous month. LS380 rose $7.50 to $729.50 putting the low sulfur premium at $96.00 pmt. MGO was up $7.50 to $1009.50 pmt, a change of $+16.00 in the past two weeks.
Vancouver IFO380 climbed $2.50 to $635.00 pmt, up $4.50 week-on-week, and falling $12.50 in the past month. LS380 climbed $4.50 to $887.00 making the premium for the low sulfur product $252.00 pmt. MGO rose $4.50 to $1077.00 pmt, for a two week change of $+15.50.
