As PortNews IAA learnt from Sergei Semenov, Development Director of Morstroitechnology (design organization), the port is to start operation as early as in late 2009. Design capacity is 5 million tonnesof cargo per year. In 2010 the throughput is expected to make 2 million tonnes. The port is to handle cement, crushed stone, rolled metal and general cargo. Al in all there will be 8 berths including 3 berths for dry bulk and 5 berths for general cargo. The depth is to make 9.2 m, vessel length - 140 m.
Construction of south-western and western protecting structures as well as dredging and coast-protection work is within the competence of RorMorRechFlot.
