RUR 12.5 bln allocated for maintenance of inland waterways infrastructure in 2008 – RF Transport Ministry

In 2008, RUR 12.5 bln was allocated for maintenance of inland waterways infrastructure in the Russian Federation, RF Transport Minister Igor Levitin told the extended meeting of the Ministry’s Collegium, press center of RF Transport Ministry reports.

According to the Minister, the quality of inland waterways was improved considerably. The federal budget allocated over RUR 10 bln for subprogram “Maritime Transport (64% more as compared with 2007). Levitin also said in 2009 the budget resources will be spent mainly for completion of construction projects with high social significance like automobile-rail ferry service Ust-Luga-Baltijsk, Marine Passenger Terminal at Vasiljevski island; development of transport infrastructure of Sochi and Vladivostok.
