Dredging works are in process at the approach channel and water area of port Vysotsk, press center of Port Vysotsk LLC cites the company’s Director General Igor Dubrovski according to ABN.
Igor Dubrovski said the company had to review the program’s schedule because of the crisis though major decisions on renovation are to be implemented in compliance with the initial plans.
Nowadays new conveyor equipment (for magnetic cleaning of coal) is being assembled in the port. Two new tugs have been recently acquired and a contract for purchase of 4 new gantry crane has been concluded. The entire fleet of cranes (8-10 units) is to be replaced within 2010–2012.
According to the company head the port continues its normal operation and there are no plans to cut personnel or to review the existing social programs. “We have reason to suppose that the port reconstruction is to be completed according to the schedule,” Dubrovski said.
It should be reminded, that the reconstruction of port Vysotsk is being carried out within the framework of the federal special-purpose program Modernization of Russia’s Transport System in 2002 – 2010. The customer of the works financed by the federal budget is RosMorPort FSUE.
