Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard commenced repairing flagship of Ukrainian Navy
Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard has commenced repairing the flagship of Ukrainian Navy – frigate Hetman Sahaydachniy. According to the press center of the shipyard, the first phase of the repair works which are to be carried out at the basing site in Sevastopol, is to be completed by Sea Breeze – 2013 exercises, where the ship is to participate.
The repair will be carried out under the agreement with the Naval Command of Ukraine signed upon the results of the tender held by Ukraine’s Defense Ministry in April 2013.
In 2012-2013, the shipyard repaired four Naval ships of Ukraine.
State Joint-Stock Holding Company Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard – the largest shipbuilding enterprise of Ukraine and one of the most powerful in Europe was founded in 1897. The company can repair tankers, bulk carriers and other types of vessels with light-ship weight of up to 7,000 tonnes and length of up to 130 meters. 90.25% of the Yard stake is owned by Kherson Shipyard.
