Container throughput of Neva-Metal to boost by 37% to 75,000 TEUs in 2013 (photo report)
Neva-Metal CJSC (stevedoring company of Severstal OJSC) plans to boost its container throughput by 37%, year-on-year, to 75,000 TEUs in 2013, IAA PortNews journalist learnt from Aleksey Smirnov, Commercial Director of the terminal.
Currently, the terminal handles export products of Severstal Group (65% of total turnover) including containerized products. Besides, it handles import containers.
According to the Company’s Director General Mikhail Panov, basic equipment is to be replaced in 2014. Besides, the company is eyeing investments into modernization and expansion of the terminal in 2014-16.
Today, the throughput capacity of the container yard is 90,000 TEUs per year. The storage capacity is 3,000 TEUs. The terminal is equipped with STS-crane Kalmar,
