VSC Terminal receives first container train from China (photo release)

Port operator Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC (VSC) at its on-dock railyard handled container train No 1212 that arrived from China on its first run, the company's press release said.

The train consisting of forty railcars reached VSC terminal from the station of Grodekovo in 10 hours and 40 minutes minutes.

The offloaded containers were then moved to a VSC warehouse for further transportation by sea to the Republic of Korea and the southern ports of China.

Among the cargo shippers is HuaShen Corp., the largest Chinese exporter of chemical, agri products, paper and industrial products.

Vostochnaya Stevedoring Company LLC (part of Global Ports) is rated the largest container terminal in the Russian Far East by cargo volumes (H1, 2013). Cargo throughput of the Vostochny port based terminal is 550,000 TEUs and can be extended by fourfold.
