Beginning of icebreaking assistance at port Ust-Luga to be announced from January 29
From January 29, 2014, the beginning of icebreaking assistance will be announced at port Ust-Luga.
According to the Headquarters of icebreaking operations of Big Port St. Petersburg, small-size vessels will be prohibited from navigation and the following limitations will come into effect within the water area of port Ust-Luga and at the approaches to the port when ice is 10-15 cm thick: Vessels without ice reinforcement are allowed for ice navigation only with icebreakers’ support. Vessels with category of Ice 1 and above are allowed for navigation in ice-covered waters either independently or upon icebreaker’s orders and recommendations.
