Transgarant to build a container terminal for Tomskneftekhim
Railway operator LLC Firm Transgarant (part of FESCO Group) has signed an agreement for the construction of a container terminal for Tomskneftekhim Ltd. and further operation of the facility for 12 years, Transgarant said on Tuesday.
The construction of a Tomsk based container yard of total area of 10,000 sqm will commence in the second quarter of 2014 with completion scheduled for the fourth quarter 2014.
Upon completion of the facility Transgarant will be providing a comprehensive service for handling of containerized cargoes of Tomskneftekhim (polyethylene and polypropylene) at the terminal: offloading, storage and handling of containers intended for the transport of the finished products.
The container terminal's storage capacity will be 1,000 TEUs, with monthly handling capabilities reaching up to 2,000 TEUs. The facility is projected to handle thirty 40' boxes a day.
Transgarant is a Russian private rail operator and member of FESCO Transportation Group. The company specializes in transportation of industrial cargoes, operating a fleet of 16,100 railcars, 92 % of them privately owned. Transgarant's freight rail turnover is over 30 billion t/km. Annual transportation volume reaches 24 million tonnes.
