Throughput of Mariupol Commercial Seaport Port (Ukraine) up 4% to 14.65 mln t in 2013
In January-December, 2013, Mariupol Commercial Seaport Port (Ukraine) handled 14.65 mln t of cargo (+4%, year-on-year), says press center of the stevedoring company.
In the accounting period, metal handling hit 8.5 mln t.
According to Port Director Aleksandr Oleynik, the company has developed a comprehensive development plan for the nearest 25 years. It implies the development of port facilities, motor and railway infrastructure in order to attract more cargo flow to the port.
Mariupol Commercial Seaport Port is one of Ukraine’s four largest seaports. It is located at the crossroads of all transport ways. The port is capable of handling 17 mln t of cargo per year. It is open round the year for vessels with length of up to 240 meters and draught of up to 8 m. The 73.2-hectare port has 4.2-km long moorage wall.
