KONGSBERG wins $36.8m contract to supply electrical, control systems for new Petrofac derrick pipelayer
KONGSBERG has been appointed as the supplier and integrator of all electrical, telecom and integrated control systems for the new Petrofac JSD 6000 deepwater derrick lay vessel. The contract has a value of over NOK 230 Million ($36.8m) and is one of the most extensive ‘Full Picture’ contracts that Kongsberg Maritime has secured to date, the Company said Thursday in a press release.
The vessel is to be built at the Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co., Ltd (ZPMC) yard in China for Petrofac UK. The contract was awarded by ZPMC to Kongsberg Maritime Engineering (KME), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime.
The full contract includes supply and integration of the electrical, telecom and integrated control systems, project management, interface management and engineering services at all stages. In addition, a significant technology scope of supply includes generators, switchboards, automation, navigation & DP systems, radio and satellite communications, networking and on board entertainment, safety technology and monitoring systems such as the advanced helideck monitoring system.
