Bunker sales of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker up 10% to 3.2 mln t in 2013
In 2013, Gazpromneft Marine Bunker (subsidiary of Gazprom Neft) sold 3.2 mt of bunker (+10%, year-on-year). According to Gazprom Neft statement, direct sales to ships increased by 22% to 2.2 mln t.
One of the most important events for the Gazpromneft Marine Bunker was the entry to the international market through the acquisition of bunkering companies located in Romania and Estonia. The company also expanded its footprint in Russian ports having commenced bunkering of vessels at river port Nizhnekamsk. Besides, it was the first among the operators of the Black Sea region to obtain a permit for operation at seaport Sochi.
The company has been consistently building up its terminal capacity. Last year it acquired Novorossiysk based assets of Novorosneftservis and Novorossiysk oil transshipment complex in order to ensure storage and transshipment of marine fuel being sold by the company in the Black Sea region.
In summer 2013, the fleet of Gazpromneft Marine Bunker was expanded with a new vessel for operation at the Black Sea ports. As of today, the entire fleet consisting of eight bunkering tankers meets the requirements of international conventions. It has obtained licenses for cargo transportation by marine transport and for handling of dangerous cargo at seaports. The area of navigation is not limited.
Gazpromneft Marine Bunker LLC is a subsidiary of Gazprom Neft founded in 2007 for round-the-year supply of bunker fuels and marine oils for sea and river transport. The company holds leading position in Russia's bunker market with its share of 18.6%.
