Corvette Stoiky finalizes shipbuilder's trials in the Baltic Sea
The crew of the corvette Stoiky completes shipbuilder's sea trials in the waters for training of the Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet, the Ministry of Defense said.
During the trials shipobuilder's acceptance team in conjunction with the ship's crew have conducted maneuvering and speed tests, checked the operation of all assemblies, systems and components, navigation and radio equipment, and armament of the ship.
The ship conducted gun fire training at surface and air targets. Very soon, the ship will be carrying out in conjunction with the Navy's aircraft the last phase of trials to simulate landing of a Ka-27 assault helicopter on the warship deck.
Next week, the crew of Stoiky will commence the one-month state acceptance sea trials in the Baltic Sea.
Upon completion of the sea trials program, the ships will undergo the audit. Severnaya Verf Shipyard will check the onboard equipment and mechanisms and the experts and members of the state acceptance commission will assess the overall condition of the corvette, its equipment and systems.
The Navy flag-raising ceremony will be held after signing of an acceptance certificate by the shipyard and the customer and the corvette will enter service with the Baltic Fleet.
The Stoiky is third serial warship of 20380 design. The design was developed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau for operations in littoral and offshore areas. The multipurpose 20380 series corvette is intended to combat surface ships and submarines, for landing and amphibious operations.
