Russky Island (Vladivostok) to become an advanced economic development zone
RF Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East suggests that Russky Island could become a special advanced economic development zone which will be competitive with neighbouring areas in the Asia Pacific Region. According to the Kremlin press center, this was reported by the First Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East Alexander Osipov in his keynote speech at the meeting held by Vladimir Putin and dedicated to social and economic development in the Far East and Baikal regions.
Vladimir Putin has supported the proposal of the Ministry.
Russky Island is an island off Vladivostok, Russia, in the Peter the Great Gulf, Sea of Japan.
