State Transport Leasing Company to provide port Sabetta with equipment

Yamal Governor Dmitry Kobylkin and Director General of State Transport Leasing Company Sergey Khramagin have signed an agreement on cooperation. According to the press center of the regional government, the sides have agreed to cooperate in the development of transport infrastructure of the Yamal-Nenets autonomous region, leasing of vehicles and highway engineering facilities. The agreement is focused on social and economic partnership in implementation of programmes aimed at the development of transport and road-building complex as well as construction of socially significant facilities.

According to Sergey Khramagin, Yamal is a strategic territory for the company. “We will work with port Sabetta to provide it with equipment. The investment policy statement of STLC lets the company participate in the private-public partnership. The solutions for port Sabetta … cannot be found without this mechanism. Yamal is a great field of activity for us”, he said.

The signing of the agreement was attended by RF Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov who said that the Ministry has extensive plans on STLC development 100% of which is controlled by the state, Federal Government and Transport Ministry. “We have developed programmes for the development of transport in different regions, first of all, in the Arctic. Special attention is paid to Sabetta, Northern Latitudinal Railway. These are the projects for Yamal and for the entire Russia. I think leasing mechanisms applied by investors will be useful in those projects”, he said.

State Transport Leasing Company has been operating in the market of leasing services from 2001.
