Infrastructure of the Northern Sea Route does not meet the required standards, IAA PortNews journalist cites Andrey Shishkin, Vice-President of Rosneft, as saying at the Adam Smith Conference “Russian Arctic Oil and Gas” in Moscow.
“As of today, the Northern Sea Route does not fully meet the standards which should be applied in the Arctic,” Andrey Shishkin said.
According to him, icebreaking assistance is not sufficient, there should be positioning stations along the entire Route, there is no access to supply infrastructure. Besides, a system for integrated control of ice situation should be created for shipment of hydrocarbons from the Kara fields alone.
