RF Border checkpoint at Sabetta to be opened by July 1, 2014

RF Border checkpoint at the seaport and airport near Sabetta is supposed to be opened before July 1, 2014. This was announced at the meeting between Aleksandr Popov, head of Russian Border Services Agency, and Dmitry Kobylkin, Governor of the Yamal - Nenets autonomous region, the regional government says.

Yamal LNG project envisages the construction of an LNG plant with annual capacity of 16.5 million tonnes per annum based on the feedstock resources of the South-Tambeyskoye field. According to the PRMS reserve standards, the proven and probable reserves of the South-Tambeyskoye field were appraised at 802 billion cubic meters of natural gas and 31 mln t of condensate. The Project also requires the construction of transport infrastructure including a sea-port and an airport located at Sabetta and building of ice class tanker fleet.
