In January-March of 2014 the turnover of OJSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” (“SPSPb”) amounted to 1.9 mln tons of cargoes, which is by 5% more, than within the same period of the last year, the company’s press center says.
Handling volumes of general cargoes increased by 5% up to 1.5 mln. tons. In particular, handling volumes of ferrous metals increased by 16% up to 0.553 mln. tons. However handling volumes of non-ferrous metals decreased by 29% up to 0.326 mln. tons.
Besides, in January-March of 2014 the company boosted handling volumes of loose and bulk cargoes by 3% up to 0.436 mln. tons, mainly due to handling of mineral fertilizers. Handling volumes of this cargo increased by 20% and amounted to 0.256 mln. tons.
In general export turnover of “SPSPb” increased by 17% and amounted to 1.6 mln. tons, import volumes decreased by 34% to 0.289 mln. tons.
Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg OJSC (included in UCL Port – stevedoring division of the International transportation group UCL Holding) – is the largest operator, rendering services on handling of all types of dry cargoes in Big Port of Saint-Petersburg. It operates modern specialized terminals for handling of container, reefer, ro-ro cargoes, cars and metals. In 2013 company handled 7.8 mln. tonnes of cargo.
