Throughput of Ukraine’s seaports up 4.8% to 36.72 mln t in QI'14

In January-March 2014, seaports of Ukraine handled  36,725,000 t of cargo (+4.8%, year-on-year), says press center of Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.

State stevedores under the Ministry of Infrastructure handled 11,696,000 t (31.8% of total volumes).
 
Private stevedores through all berths handled 25,028,000 t (68.2% of total volumes) including 12,873,000 t handled by private stevedoring companies through the berths of USPA (35% of total volumes).

Transshipment of export cargo increased by 13.5%, year-on-year, to 26,002,000 t. Transshipment of import cargo hit 3,666,000 t (- 8.2%), transit cargo – 6,952,000 t (- 9%, year-on-year), coastal trade cargo – 105,000 t (-79.1%, year-on-year).

Container throughput of seaports climbed by 2.3% to 185,788 TEUs.
