In January-March 2014, Commercial Port of Vladivostok OJSC handled 1,614,100 t of cargo (+11%, year-on-year), the company says in its press release.
In the accounting period, the port handled 758,000 of export cargo, 491,800 t of import cargo and 364,300 t of coastal trade cargo.
The company’s container throughput hit 109,828 TEUs (+3%, year-on-year) including 38,031 TEUs of export, 49,565 TEUs of import, and 22,232 TEUs of coastal trade containers.
Transshipment of export cargo climbed by 34%, year-on-year, mainly due to attraction of additional ferrous metal. Besides, transshipment of sulphur increased over 2-fold, timber – by 81%. In March, coal transshipment hit a record high result over the last 4 years – 83,579 t.
In the first quarter of 2014, transshipment of liquid bulk cargo increased by 26% to 136,900 t.
In January-March, the port handled 591 vessels and 28,654 wagons.
In March, Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 633,800 t of cargo (+31%).
