Lloyd's List names top 10 classification societies

Lloyd's List has published the list top 10 classification societies, leaders of 2013 in seaborne transportation, says the press center of Seafarers’ Union of Russia.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping is in the list.

Top-10: 1. DNV GL Group, 2. ABS, 3. ClassNK, 4. Lloyd’s Register, 5. RINA, 6. Bureau Veritas, 7. China Classification Society, 8. Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, 9. Korean Register of Shipping, 10.   Indian Register of Shipping.

Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) is one of the world's leading classification societies. It was founded in 1913. RS activities are focused on improvement of safety standards, safety of life at sea, prevention of environmental pollution. RS is an EU-recognized member of IACS, associate member of INTERTANKO, INTERCARGO and BIMCO. RS is recognized by 70 flag state maritime administrations including 16 EU member states.
